Rick Renteria Will Not Manage White Sox Monday Night In Cleveland [UPDATE] He’s Fine!

-

The White Sox are scheduled to begin a three-game series Monday night in Cleveland, but Rick Renteria will not be on the bench to manage his young squad.

A few hours before first pitch the White Sox released a statement from GM Rick Hahn who said Renteria will not be managing the team after waking up with nasal congestion and a cough.

After undergoing precautionary tests at a Cleveland hospital the White Sox decided it would be best to keep Renteria away from the team for at least Monday night’s game.

Joe McEwing, who’s been the bench coach since 2017, will fill in as the manager.
