For many, it’s always been a matter of when and not if the Bulls would part ways with their current head coach Jim Boylen. That doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. In a recent segment on ESPN, Brian Windhorst dropped a bombshell that won’t sit well with Bulls fans.
Jim Boylen isn’t going anywhere?
Although it’s been reported that Boylen was all but out as the Bulls head coach, I personally never believed it. Just like many other fans, I do want the team to move on from Jim Boylen. However, in the back of my mind I always knew there was a possibility that Arturas Karnisovas might give Boylen one more shot. Is this the ideal route I want the organization to go? Absolutely not. But I do trust Karnisovas’s leadership and the vision he has for the Bulls moving forward.
So if he does make the unpopular choice of sticking with Boylen, I’ll support it.
What if the Bulls do stick to the status quo?
If the Bulls do run it back with Jim, I say give him to the All-Star break of next season and no more. By then we will know 100% (if we don’t already) if Boylen is the guy that will be able to lead this team for the next few years.
If he is given any more time after that I truly think it could be detrimental to both the team and the fans.
