Cubs outfielder Albert Almora Jr. walked off the field with trainers Friday night during the Cubs scrimmage after he crashed into the center field wall at Wrigley Field.

Almora went after a ball hit by Kris Bryant off of Craig Kimbrel and after a few minutes of staying down Almora ended up walking off with trainers.

You always hate to see injuries, but they often feel worse when it comes during practice or simulated play like the Cubs and the rest of MLB teams are going through right now in preparation for the regular season. You also hate to bash a player for going all out even if it is just a scrimmage, but that’s just the way Almora plays.

But, you can also say that there’s no need to be going into walls right now.

Hopefully Almora is fine. We’ll keep you updated.

UPDATE

Looks like some bruised ribs for Almora.

UPDATE

This wasn’t serious at all, as Almora came right back in and delivered an RBI-single.
