The 2020 NFL season is due to begin on the 10th of September and it will be the 101st edition of the competition. The regular-season schedule was released on the 7th of May and provided there are no complications due to the outbreak of COVID-19, teams will begin their training camps and pre-season preparations towards the end of July and into August.
The Chicago Bears will be hoping for a great season but what are the reasons as to why the Chicago Bears can regain dominance in the North?
You only have to look back to the 2018/19 season do find many positives as we look ahead to the 2020 campaign. Chicago Bears finished with a 12-4 record, which is a strong winning record and that was largely in thanks to their superb defense. Not only was this more than double their win record from the previous season but the win total was more than the last two seasons combined. That alone should provide plenty of optimism as the Chicago Bears aim to regain dominance in the NFC.
However, last season did not live up to expectations and the Bears were not able to improve on their record from the previous season. The Week 15 loss to the Green Bay Packers was especially costly and it is the Packers who have been setting the standard in the North.

It is worth remembering that although The Chicago Bears offense was very disappointing last season, they still managed to win 8 games. Include the defensive injuries to Akiem Hicks, Danny Trevathan and Roquan Smith and there were many factors in play throughout the season. A fully fit roster will only serve to boost their chances of dominance in the North plus Chicago Bears have added quarterback Nick Foles, tight ends Jimmy Graham and Cole Kmet in addition to pass rusher Robert Quinn and cornerback Jaylon Johnson.
Despite the excellent additions, it is the return to fitness of Hicks and Trevathan in defense which could see the Bears dominate the NFC in 2020 and beyond.
The positives surrounding the playing personnel extends to the fixture schedule for the 2020 season. The Chicago Bears have a favourable start to the season and could easily begin the campaign with a run of five or six victories. A start like this to 2020 would not only be the perfect boost for the current season but also those to come in the future.
Therefore, it could be worth having a punt on the Chicago Bears to come out on top in the North during the 2020/21 season. The growing sportsbook list in the United States, including the state of Indiana, means there are many options available for those who would like to place a bet on the success of the Chicago Bears. It could only take one highly successful season for the Chicago Bears to assert their long term dominance once again on the North.
