The Most Iconic Chicago Bears NFL Gear of All Time

Every new season is a chance for NFL fans to see a new jersey for their team. It is a mixture of excitement and surprise when the new gear is launched. For the Chicago Bears, every new design has been nothing short from breathtaking. However, some iconic gears have been more appealing to the fans over the years. Let us take a look at some of the most iconic Chicago Bears NFL gear of all time.

The 2019 Gear

The 2019 NFL gear looks greatly appealing to the eye. The dominating white color with a mixture of red and blue stripes on the shoulders makes the jersey awesome.  A “100” patch is added to the right front of the jersey, just above the number. The blue Nike pants give a perfect match to the brightly colored top. The socks are a perfect mix featuring horizontal strips of red and black. The helmet, just like the socks, features a combination of black and red stripes with white on the chin.  The white gloves finish off a stunning and memorable look.

The 2012 Gear

In 2012, Chicago Bears signed a deal with Nike to make their gears that marked something of a new identity to Chicago Bears. Nike transformed the use of fabric and material in a bid to reduce weight on players. Cloves and socks were designed using new fabric with the jersey number integrated into the fabric. The 2012 gear featured a navy blue top with orange stripes on the arms. The white Nike pants, socks featuring blue, white, and orange-blue stripes sections, and boots of blue and orange combination completed the amazing look. On the head, the dark blue helmet with some orange strip protected the players. Finally, the gloves of blue and orange mixture blended well with the team’s jersey.

The 1984 Gear

This was the first memorial for the late George Halas, who died on 31st Oct 1983. In commemoration, the team added a “GHS ” initials on the team’s jersey.  These initials were put on the three orange stripes on the left sleeves of the jersey. The jersey numbers were put on the blue jersey sleeves. The pants had some red-black stripes on either side while white dominated the other parts. Socks and boots were white except for the blue-orange stripes on the top part of the socks.

The 1990 Gear

For the 1990 gear, Chicago Bears went for something similar to the 1984 gear. The GHS initials, numbering, pants, and socks largely remained as it was for the 1984 gear. The major difference here was the change of cleats from white to black. The entire gear now looked like a successive interchange of black and white.

The 2004 Thanksgiving Gear

The team donned a 1946 throwback jersey when they played a 2004 Thanksgiving game against the Cowboys. The jersey was orange in color with black stripes on the sleeves. The helmet was largely black with a “C” on either side. The numbers were written in black with white borders. The pants on the other end were majorly white and featured a combination of black and orange on either side.

The 2010 Gear

The team picked another throwback jersey look. The dark-blue jerseys feature orange strips on either of its sleeves. The “C” this time wasn’t put on the blue helmet but is featured on the top-front of the jersey. The numbers were written in the orange block.

The 1999 Jersey

1999 remains a memorable year in Chicago Bears’ calendar because it’s the same year Walter Payton succumbed to liver cancer. To honor him, a 34-patch was added to their dark-blue jersey. Jersey numbers were put on the front and also on both sleeves. The jersey sleeves also had a combination of orange and white strips. Bright colors dominated the pants, gloves, socks, and cleats. The helmet was black with the “C” on the sides.

The 1973 Gear

The 1973 gear was no different from the majority of Chicago Bears’ gears on this iconic list. For the third year row, players’ names were featured at the back of the jersey. Compared to previous years, the “C” on the helmet was colored with orange and white outlines.
