UNLV Hires Glenn Thomas As Offensive Coordinator And Quarterback Coach

UNLV Rebel’s new head football coach Marcus Arroyo has hired Glenn Thomas as offensive coordinator and quarterback coach. Thomas spent the last three seasons as Baylor’s co-offensive coordinator.

Before his time at Baylor, he spent to years as an assistant at Temple under then-coach Matt Rhule. Thomas also spent seven seasons in the NFL. Three of the years he was the quarterback coach for the Atlanta Falcons, in the previous years he was an offensive assistant. Also, Thomas had coaching stints with the Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars. Glenn Thomas coached Matt Ryan while he was quarterback coach with the Falcons, and he helped lead the Baylor Bears to an 11-3 record last season.

Under Thomas’s guidance last season, Baylor quarterback Charlie Brewer threw for 3,161 yards, 21, touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Brewer also ran for 344 yards and rushed for 11 touchdowns. Last season Baylor ran the ball a lot; they had two running back get over 100 rush attempts. The Bears ran it about 36 times per game and passed about 32 times per game.
