The Cubs are pounding the Giants today and it started early, when they chased Johnny Cueto before the second inning ended. Willson Contreras and Javier Báez both had three hits apiece Tuesday and the duo also launched a pair of home runs to left field.
Before crushing his third spring training home run, Báez capped off a five-run second inning with a two-run double. It all started with Contreras leading off with a single. The Cubs had seven hits in the second, including six in a row to begin the inning.
The Cubs are up 11-3, with 16 hits heading into the bottom of the seventh inning.
