You can’t really be mad at Brandon Morrow. At this point, you kinda just have to feel bad for him. He hasn’t pitched since July 2018, and at 35-years-old maybe Morrow is inching closer to the end of his career.

Morrow made his MLB debut way back in 2007, and the right-hander has had to battle through injuries his entire career. After missing all of 2019, Morrow re-signed with the Cubs on a minor league deal, but he’s been slowed down by two different injuries in spring training.

First, Morrow had a strained muscle in his chest that sidelined him, but he returned and threw on Thursday. But Morrow just can’t catch a break, as he’ll be out for another two weeks after suffering a calf strain.

Just seems like his body is telling him it’s time to hang it up, but man that really sucks for Morrow.

Yu Darvish made his spring training debut Saturday and he was already in midseason form, touching 98mph in the first inning. He pitched two innings and struck out three, while using six different pitches.

And Yu, as always, brought the jokes too.

Left-handed pitcher Brad Wieck, who had a heart procedure to fix an abnormal heartbeat last week, feels good and says he’s ready to start throwing again as early as Monday.

Right-handed pitcher Dillon Maples hadn’t been seen throwing in spring training, but he was out there Sunday morning pitching live BP.

The righty has nasty stuff, but he just hasn’t been able to control his fastball. Now, it seems like he’s made a change in his delivery.

Here’s David Ross on Maples’ chances of winning a bullpen spot.

Finally, despite having a deal done with Marquee, the channel still isn’t available on Hulu+ Live TV.

Seems like this is a Hulu problem.
