Andy Reid Reveals His Thoughts On Bears Trading For Nick Foles

-

Five days ago the Chicago Bears traded for Jacksonville Jaguar’s quarterback Nick Foles and thus broke the internet. The aftermath of the trade can really be broken down into two groups.

  1. You love it and believe it’s a helluva an upgrade
  2. You hate it and want Ryan Pace unemployed

Wherever you may fall in the spectrum, you’ll still want to hear what Chief’s head coach, Andy Reid had to say regarding the trade. In a recent story from The Athletic’s Dan Pompei, Reid showered his former QB with praise:

“I think he’ll be great for that (Bears) situation because he gets it,” Reid says. “He’ll always present competition, but if he ends up being the guy that’s the backup, he understands that role. He also understands the role if he’s the starter. He’s going to prepare himself like a professional and come to work with a smile on his face every day and work his tail off. He’ll be great in the locker room, great leader. He’s a man of faith. As good a player as he is, he’s even a better human being.”

Andy Reid has quite the history with Foles

Andy Reid isn’t just blowing smoke here. He has history with the Super Bowl QB. Foles has played for Reid twice in his career. He was under him during his rookie season back in Philadelphia and also joined him in Kansas City for a year before the arrival of Patrick Mahomes. So when Reid says something like this, you shouldn’t take it lightly. This man knows what he is talking about when it comes to the quarterback position. It will be interesting to see how the Bears QB competition plays out but it’s safe to say Foles will be ready for whatever role that may come his way.
