New information has surfaced in regards to the Chicago Bears Twitter account apparently being hacked. A group based out of Saudi Arabia calling itself OurMine claimed responsibility, claiming it was their intention to prove that any account can be successfully hacked. It basically comes across as a sales pitch with the intention of helping people improve their security. The group itself has been at work dating back to 2016, claiming the credit for hacking several notable individuals and accounts such as Mark Zuckerberg and World Wrestling Entertainment among others.
It seems the Bears still haven’t regained control of the account, indication just how severe the breach is. It’s rather incredible.
Chicago Bears Twitter is having a field day
Considering the quality accounts these people have taken over before, it’s not a shock the Bears were woefully unprepared for something like this. OurMine has no rhyme or reason to who they target. It’s all random with only one similarity. Every account represents a person or organization who is rich. The Bears being a billion-dollar organization made them an obvious target. It’s a firm reminder that nobody is truly safe on the Internet and all one can do is hope they aren’t the ones being targeted.
Certainly not a great start to the day for the organization.

It appears they’re trying to wrestle control back but as yet there haven’t been any changes. Odds are things will eventually settle down but this will be something that might take a week or two to move past. Hopefully, it’s nothing more than a minor embarrassment. If nothing else, it should keep their media managers on their toes in the future.
