Notre Dame Class Of 2020 Showing Out On National Stage

-

For a 2020 class that only ranks 12th nationally according to 24/7 Sports, some future Irish are showing out on the national stage in high school All-America contests.

Team Savage

First, Drew Pyne, Chris Tyree and Alex Peitsch represented Notre Dame on Team Savage versus Team Pressure for the Under Armor All America game on January 2nd, 2020.

Drew Pyne led Team Savage to 17 points on three drives of the Under Armor All America including a 42 yard dime to Ohio State commit Julian Fleming for six.

Pyne looked pretty sharp nearly scoring a second touchdown, this one with his legs. Instead he came up a yard shy and let his future teammate Tyree punch it in from the one yard line. Tyree also took home some hardware for the Elite Speed skills challenge.

This teaser of what is to come leaves Irish nation with some more hype for the upcoming season and beyond. As if it was needed.

Team East

Three more Irish were busy to start the New Year at the East vs West match up that was broadcast on NBC – so naturally Notre Dame received some love.

Five star receiver Jordan Johnson, stand out tight end Michael Mayer and offensive tackle Michael Carmody all participated. Tackle Tosh Baker sat out on Team West with a MCL sprain.

Johnson impressed with crisp route running and an acrobatic catch.

Next Man Up

Earlier this week Cole Kmet announced his declaration to move on to the NFL, forgoing his final year at Notre Dame. The tight end position has been a staple for the Irish over the years.

While Kmet will certainly be missed the Irish have young talent returning in Tommy Tremble, George Takacs and Brock Wright but more is better for 2020 as Mayer got himself on the board in Kmet-like fashion.

Class Of 2020

The coaching staff was extremely high on this years class, but that is what every coach says, every year.

But seeing is believing. And from what we can see this far, the Irish have secured some stand-out offensive talents in this class and the future Irish are showing out!
