Like most things in today’s day and age, it all started out with a tweet. This one from MaxPreps writer, Zack Poff.
A tweet in which references Tyler Buchner, the phenom quarterback who will headline the Class of 2021 for the Fighting Irish.
2021 Notre Dame commit @tylerbuchner is a straight baller.
4,474 yards passing & 53 TDs
1,610 yards rushing & 28 TDsDude really had 6,071 total yards and 81 TDs in 13 games. Unreal talent!

From there, five-star wide receiver prospect Emeka Egbuka commented with his appreciation of Buchner’s ridiculous junior season.
Buchner joked back to the wide out who has yet to commit but seems to be leaning towards playing for Washington.
To shake things up, the Huskies head coach has just stepped down and historically speaking, head coaching changes tend to shake up a universities recruiting pipeline. For example, our own Brayden Lenzy decommited from a PAC12 school once the head coach had changed.
Just tryna be like you! 🤙🏻

Buchner offered a trade, in exchange the big time recruit Egbuka would have to join him at the University of Notre Dame. Buchner’s already going to have Deion Colzie, Lorezno Styles Jr, and of course 2020 commits Jordan Johnson and Chris Tyree, at his disposal. Egbuka would just be icing on the cake.
I’ll trade yards with you if you commit to @NDFootball

Notre Dame Has Offered Him A Scholarship
With no direct correlation, Notre Dame knows that this guy is a play maker. They have already hosted Egbuka in the spring of 2019 where head coach Brian Kelly highlighted how special he was.
While the Irish may be low on his list, maybe JUST maybe knowing a play maker like Buchner is heading to Notre Dame may open the door for other big time offensive weapons to hop on to the hype train.
