People were starting to question Khalil Mack. He hadn’t been able to produce more than one sack in the previous five games. It was wondered if he was worth the money he was getting paid anymore. The Chicago Bears gave him that to be great. His greatness is tied to sacks, right? Not entirely but a lot of fans and media think that way. Apparently Mack got tired of those critics questioning him because he took out all of his frustrations on the poor New York Giants offensive line.
Daniel Jones is probably happy he won’t have to see the Bears again for awhile. Mack was hunting him the entire game. The star pass rusher sacked and stripped him in the 3rd quarter which led to a touchdown that helped give the Bears the lead. Then for the rest of the half, he was pressuring the Giants quarterback almost constantly. If not for Jones’ mobility and a split-second decision to throw, he’d have been sacked two other times as well. New York just had no answer for Mack the entire game.
This despite constant double and even triple teams.
Khalil Mack is still great and will remain that way
There are plenty of problems with this Bears team. The offense is still atrocious. The special teams aren’t much better. However, the defense remains reliable in the face of all this misery and Mack is a big part of why. He has 6.5 sacks on the season and five forced fumbles. He’s still on track to secure at least 10 sacks this season, which is what the Bears pay him to get. Sure the recent stretch was frustrating but great players always find a way out of it. Mack has and he’ll have a chance to add to his tally in Detroit on Thanksgiving.

Jeff Driskel will be the quarterback and he just got sacked six times by the Redskins. The Lions offensive line is banged up and now they’re coming off a dispiriting loss. This could be a prime opportunity for the defense to feast like they should have the last time they met Detroit. Mack certainly seems to be feeling the juices flowing again.
