After Jose Abreu accepted the qualifying offer there were still reports that the Cuban first baseman and the White Sox were working toward a long-term deal and a little more than a week later it’s happened.
After signing Yasmani Grandal on Thursday, the White Sox announced that they have agreed to a three-year deal with Abreu.
So, a three-year, $50 million deal for Abreu. Rick Hahn checking off some boxes early in the offseason.
