Allen Robinson is on course to top 1,000 yards in 2019. An amazing accomplishment given how poor the quarterback play has been this season. He’s done this by being remarkably consistent in everything he does from the route running to the strong hands for catching the ball. It’s served him well and he’s proving to be one of the best free agents Chicago Bears GM Ryan Pace has ever signed. The team will certainly need him on Sunday in a pivotal game against the Los Angeles Rams.
It will be there that Robinson reunites with an old teammate. Jalen Ramsey was traded from the Jacksonville Jaguars to the Rams earlier this year. He’s expected to draw the primary duties of covering Robinson on Sunday. Aside from being an outstanding athlete with strong coverage skills, Ramsey is also noted for one other thing: his mouth.
The cornerback has become somewhat infamous for his trash-talking in the past couple of years. Pittsburgh receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster alluded to it a week ago.
“It’s cool man. He talks a lot. So much. He said so many cuss words I’ve never heard of, and I’m 22-years old.”
Robinson is undeniably familiar with this part of Ramsey, having gone against him in practice with the Jaguars. So when he was asked about the upcoming matchup on Good Morning Football, he made it clear he was eager for the challenge but had no intention of giving the corner any extra material.

Allen Robinson respects but does not fear Ramsey
For a guy who talks such a big game, Ramsey certainly hasn’t played like the best cornerback in the NFL this season. Teams have completed 30-of-43 passes for 357 yards and a touchdown in just six games against him. Not exactly elite numbers. Robinson has made it clear that he isn’t going to overlook the cornerback for his obvious talent, but has no intention of letting that interfere with him doing his job. You know, like a professional would.
It’s unclear what will happen with Mitch Trubisky on Sunday. He’s become so unpredictable at this point and everybody remembers how poorly he played against the Rams defense last season. Still, it’s a virtual guarantee that he will target Robinson early and often in this game. So he and Ramsey should have numerous chances going head-to-head. The fact it comes on Sunday Night Football only makes it more exciting.
