VIDEO: Michael Kopech Hits 100mph And It Looks Like He Has A New Delivery

-

White Sox pitcher Michael Kopech is rehabbing from Tommy John surgery and so far it looks like his recovery is going well. While White Sox GM Rick Hahn has tempered expectations for 2020, not committing to saying when Kopech will be ready to join the starting rotation again, Kopech is optimistic he’ll be ready to go in spring training.

Kopech had the elbow surgery last September and a year later the right-hander is touching 100mph on the radar gun again.

He’s currently pitching in the instructional league down in Arizona and there’s some video of Kopech, who appears to have a new delivery. It looks like Kopech has a similar delivery to Jake Arrieta and Yu Darvish, who both don’t have a full windup even when there are no runners on base.

You can see that in the first video, where Kopech only takes a slight step before delivery a pitch.
