Dylan Cease Gets The Unique Honor Of Starting Another White Sox Double Header

-

White Sox rookie Dylan Cease made his MLB debut in game one of a double header against the Tigers on July 3, and then he started game one of a double header last week in Detroit. Now, after Monday night’s series opener against the Astros was postponed, Cease will make his third start in a double header.

So, out of Cease’s first seven MLB career starts, three will come in double headers.

The first game on Tuesday will begin at 3:40 p.m. The Astros will start Zack Greinke. Ivan Nova will square off against Gerrit Cole in game two of the double header.

If you have tickets for Tuesday night’s game you can also watch Cease start the day game.

Both of Cease’s wins this season have come against the Tigers in his previous two double header starts, but Houston will obviously be a much bigger challenge to the rookie. The Astros rank fourth in runs scored this year compared to the Tigers who rank dead last in MLB.

And this series won’t be any easier for the sluggish White Sox offense, with Houston putting up the fourth-best ERA in baseball.
