Mets Pitcher Jason Vargas Nearly Fights Reporter After Loss To Cubs

I bet Mets fans felt pretty good after they saw their team sweep the Cubs in the 2015 NLCS. This is yet another reminder that as a Cubs fan you really shouldn’t take this era and the success for granted because you could be a Mets fan. The latest embarrassment is Mets pitcher Jason Vargas nearly fighting a reporter after Sunday’s loss to the Cubs.

It started when Mets manager Mickey Callaway cursed out Tim Healey from Newsday and Vargas then escalated things.

Incident started with Mickey Callaway cursing out Healey for being an antagonist.

Tension in the clubhouse. Jason Vargas had to be separated from going after Tim Healey of Newsday.

Callaway told the public relations staff to “Get this motherf—-er” out of the clubhouse and when Healey didn’t leave, Vargas got into a stare down with him. Words were exchanged and Vargas had to be restrained from him.

Vargas, who started against the Cubs Friday, was ready to throw down.

Vargas then got into a shouting match with the reporter, over a staredown, and said at one point: "Ill knock you the f*** out, bro."

He charged such reporter and had to held back by Gomez and Syndergaard.

Hey, at least the Mets still are entertaining, like in a bad 2001 WCW type of way.
