Anthony Miller Absolutely Scorches Old Rival at Football Camp

-

Anthony Miller may play football in the NFL, but he’s a man who always remembers his roots. There is no doubt he still has strong memories of playing high school football in Memphis for Christian Brothers High. One of his fondest memories was probably putting severe beatdowns on Wooddale High School. In two meetings, his team crushed them 28-14 and 56-6. In his only time playing against them, he caught three passes for 46 yards.

It seems at least one person was hoping to get a measure of revenge on Miller for past wrongs. His name is Rico Golden, a former defensive back for Wooddale who graduated in 2008. Though he now owns a car detailing business, he’s kept close to the football program over the years. This earned him an invitation from former NFL nose tackle Dontari Poe to attend his football camp at the school.

Miller, who went to Memphis University just like Poe, also accepted an invite. This inevitably brought the two into conflict. Golden apparently challenged the Bears receiver to a matchup one-on-one. Never one to back down, Miller accepted. What followed was, well, just watch.

Anthony Miller reminded everybody why he’s in the NFL

It’s one thing to beat a guy for a catch. That can happen a lot. It’s quite another to beat him so badly that the guy literally was not in the camera shot when Miller made his catch. This is a reminder of how lethal a route runner the Bears second-year receiver is and why he’s playing on Sundays. Golden got a glimpse of what it’s like to play him with two healthy shoulders.

Something that wasn’t the case during most of his rookie year. Miller has reportedly been chomping at the bit to get back to practice. Chicago has held him out to ensure his shoulder is 100% healed for training camp. Knowing him, he’s not going to waste much time once he gets back.
