Make no mistake. College can be good for young people to further their educations, but it is by no means a flawless process. So many universities are rife with corruption, poor business practices, or simple ineptitude. New Chicago Bears safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix learned that recently when he made a shocking discovery.
Clinton-Dix attended the University of Alabama, playing for the fabled Crimson Tide. It’s a prestigious school for sports, but it seems their business and education practices could use a little less…rigidity. See the 26-year old graduated in May of 2018 while he was still a member of the Green Bay Packers.
Big moment, right? One would think the man might like to show off his diploma to everybody. Yet as the weeks and months began to go by, the degree wouldn’t arrive. Finally fed up, Clinton-Dix decided to do some digging. That’s when he made a rather ridiculous discovery.
Alabama withheld Ha Ha Clinton-Dix degree over one dollar
Think about this. A program that rakes in literal tens of millions of dollars every year thanks to its football team alone couldn’t give one of their biggest stars in school history his diploma because he forgot to pay them one dollar. This despite him giving them that and so much more in ticket and jersey sales when he was there.

That is either Gordon Gecko levels of greed or a glaring oversight by the accountants at the university. Either way, the odds are Clinton-Dix has rectified the matter and will finally get his degree. He’ll certainly have a fun story to tell his children. Maybe he can even tell them he received his diploma and won a Super Bowl the same year.
