Blackhawks’ Prospect May Be Heading Back Home This Offseason

-

A few hours ago, a Swedish media outlet named NWTsport released a report about Blackhawks’ prospect, Victor Ejdsell. His contract expires at the end of the season and he will have a big decision to make, regarding his future. According to Kim Frandsen with NWTsport, it looks like Ejdsell may have already made up his mind.

If you’re not familiar with Ejdsell, he was one of the pieces that the Blackhawks acquired from the Nashville Predators in the Ryan Hartman trade. The other pieces were two draft picks that turned into highly touted prospects Nicolas Beaudin and Philipp Kurashev.

When he was acquired, Victor Ejdsell was regarded as a potential building block for the future. However, things haven’t gone as planned. Ejdsell has only played in 6 NHL games since joining the Blackhawks last season which isn’t a good sign. The buzz surrounding the once promising player has basically dissipated.

Färjestad BK of the SHL has shown interest in signing him. Playing for Färjestad BK makes sense, because Ejdsell played for the club from 2013-2016. Ejdsell has also recently purchased an apartment in his hometown of Karlstad, SWE. It certainly looks like he has shown his hand and made his intentions known. Victor Ejdsell is keeping his options open this summer and it makes sense. This report makes an already highly anticipated offseason that much more interesting.
