The Cubs will announce more details in the next month about their new TV network that will be ready to launch before the start of spring training in 2020. One interesting tidbit about the network is that it might include teams from outside the area.

The Cubs hope to broadcast all their spring training games, starting next season.

“There might be other teams involved; they’re not local teams,” said Kenney, who offered few details about the network during his Cubs Convention session and later to reporters afterward – but promised more details within the next few weeks.

It would be pretty cool if the Cubs could broadcast their minor league games. I’m the last person to ask if that’s possible with their different affiliates across the country and how they could get it done, but damnit, get it done!

But I’m definitely excited to find out what those other teams are. Could definitely see the network pick up some college sports that aren’t always televised, yet it kind of seems like there will be some teams from other pro markets. Maybe?

Could it be possible the new network also includes other MLB teams? We’ll finally get some answers and a lot more details in February, right as the Cubs get ready for spring training.

So, stay tuned.
