Mitch Trubisky Has Another All-Time Great as a Fan After Sunday

-

Mitch Trubisky seems to attract the attention of notable NFL players everywhere, specifically quarterbacks. He already has a loyal supporter in future Hall of Fame icon Peyton Manning. He also has become friends with Los Angeles Rams star Jared Goff who has also sworn by Trubisky’s ability. Many Chicago Bears fans don’t want to hear it.

It’s hard to know for sure what will finally convince some of these people that the 24-year old is good and possibly moving towards the levels of really good and even great. He’s thrown for 13 touchdowns and six interceptions so far. That’s a better than a 2-to-1 touchdown to interception ratio. He’s currently on pace to amass 4,904 total yards and scored 42 touchdowns.

Nope, says the hardcore doubters. Not good enough. Well it seems Trubisky can’t convince everybody. One person he did impress on Sunday though? Arguably the greatest quarterback in NFL history. Tom Brady was asked about his impressions of Trubisky after the game. The Patriots superstar had plenty of good things to say.

“He made some great plays. Even that last one — that last throw was an incredible throw. Rolling left, had a guy in his face.

He’s obviously got the ability to throw it, and he made some great plays out of the pocket, running. He played really well.”

Mitch Trubisky wasn’t perfect but he kept Bears in the game

People kept saying that Trubisky was costing the Bears the game. Their two primary reasons were his missing some open receivers and a couple costly interceptions. It’s true. He did struggle in those areas, going 26-of-50 with those two picks and almost had two more. At the same time, he racked up 414 total yards including 81 rushing and accounted for three touchdowns.

While he could’ve been better, to say he’s the reason they lost is simply false. If anything he was the reason they were even in the game at the end. The running game couldn’t do much of anything without him scrambling. His receivers dropped a number of his passes and he was pressured a lot more than usual.

On top of that, the defense was listless for the second-straight game and the special teams coughed up two touchdowns. By all rights, it should’ve been a blowout loss. Instead, they came one yard shy of forcing overtime and it’s because Trubisky was on the field. Chicago hasn’t been able to say that about a quarterback in a long time.
