WATCH: Khalil Mack “Thrilled as a Motherf***er” to Play on Bears Defense

-

The Chicago Bears are thrilled that Khalil Mack is in town. He’s been nothing short of a superstar since the team traded for him before the season. Those draft picks and that massive contract looks like pennies compared to what he’s done over just the first three games including four sacks, three forced fumbles, and a pick-six touchdown.

The more interesting question is whether he’s happy to be in Chicago. Leaving Oakland couldn’t have been easy for him. They were the team that drafted him and he’d built his early legacy there. He was asked about it after the Bears’ 16-14 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. One in which the defense played outstanding in the second half to shut the door.

How does he feel about playing in Chicago with these new teammates? Suffice to say he couldn’t contain his excitement.

Say this for Khalil Mack: he calls it like he sees it

There’s no question Mack is playing on a defense that is infinitely more talented and better coached than the one he left behind in Oakland. Akiem Hicks, Leonard Floyd, Danny Trevathan, Eddie Goldman, Roquan Smith, Kyle Fuller, and Eddie Jackson make up quite the supporting cast. This defense was already a top 10 unit before he arrived.

Now it’s in the running for best in the NFL. It has 14 sacks through three games along with five interceptions and seven forced fumbles. The floodgates have been opened, and he was the big boulder that did the smashing. It’s going to be fun watching this thing develop.
