I’m not sure why Addison Russell wasn’t in the game in the seventh inning, with Javier Baez moving over to second for Daniel Murphy, but he was in there in the ninth and made an amazing play that gave Cubs fan a new favorite GIF.
With a 3-0 lead over the Brewers, Ryan Braun stepped up with one out against Pedro Strop and ripped a liner to the left side of the infield. Russell ranged over, made an unbelievable stop, rolled over and then threw out Braun at first for the second out of the ninth.
David Bote’s reaction was perfect.

Now, let’s just have Russell sooner in the game so that the Cubs don’t almost blow a game because Daniel Murphy is a trash defender.
