UFC 229 Ticket Prices In One Word: Astronomical

UFC 229 Ticket Prices Through The Roof

McGregor vs. Nurmagomedov Commanding Big Money in Las Vegas.

Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov is arguably the biggest UFC match-up to date. It has been discussed to the point of annoyance. MMA discussion groups are at the point where they’d rather just not hear about it. All things considered, UFC 229 ticket prices were recently announced, and the price tag lives up to the hype.

The obsession over UFC 229’s main event means that the UFC will undoubtedly make a killing at the gates. The cheapest ticket into T-Mobile Arena for UFC 229 costs $205 (fees not included). Although UFC fans should probably count their blessings, only Kenny Chesney fans can be used to a price tag like that. Ticket prices are so high, people are calling in favors left and right.

Just have a listen to this young man plead (beg? scream? cry? having trouble deciding) his dad to ask Dana White to hook him up with some tickets.

I’m sure plenty of other UFC fans can empathize now the prices have been revealed.

Unfortunately, the UFC 229 ticket prices don’t stop at the $205 mark, according to Vividseats.com the cheapest ticket currently available starts at $445. Actually, they only go up, and by a LOT. Vivid also has Suite 29 available for a cool $31,295. Of course, there are plenty of options in between if you’d rather entertain seats in the $2,000-$5,000 range.

UFC 229 Ticket Prices Breakdown

August 14th, MMA Junkie reported: “Ticket prices at www.axs.com are listed at $2,505, $2,005, $1,505, $1,005, $755, $555, $405, $355, $305, $255, and $205, not including fees. There will be a maximum of eight tickets allowed per customer.” Now call me crazy (or broke), but if I’m purchasing tickets to UFC 229, you need not worry about me purchasing more than eight tickets.

To go along with the chaos, pictured above (at left) is the price list according to Vividseats.com exclusively for seats in section 225. Nosebleeds by T-Mobile standards will cost you anywhere from $473 to $1,162 USD.  According to the seat descriptions, you wont sniff anything closer than 13 rows back in section 225.

What Do UFC 229 Ticket Prices Mean for Pay-Per-View Prices?

Historically, the UFC has kept its HD Pay-Per-View purchase price at roughly $65 USD. Could this be a time when they bump up the cost for a super fight? For the boxing fans, remember Mayweather vs. Pacquiao? That fight easily cost PPV purchasers north of $100. Sadly, it is probably only a matter of time before we see UFC Pay-Per-View prices fluctuate according to the names on the card.

With that being said, what is the draw to spend at least $205 to sit in section 225, at least 13 rows back? Even at a price of $100, the Pay-Per-View allows a much closer view of the action, with full commentary, as well as access to all sorts of home treats to enjoy during the fight. Who knows, we may even get to hear an iconic Joe Rogan “Ooooohhhhh!”

Without a doubt, people want to be there, to witness history, to see a Conor knockout, or a Khabib “ground-and-pound.” Perhaps some will buy tickets simply to see if Derrick Lewis throws any punches this time around. Lewis squares off with Alexander Volkov at UFC 229 as the co-main event. To compliment the card, Sean O’Malley (10-0) is slated to take on José Alberto Quiñónez (7-2) in a bantamweight battle.

UFC 229 takes place Saturday Oct. 6th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. If you’re a fight fan, you won’t want to miss a minute of the action.
