2018 Chicago Bulls Player Breakdown: Zach Lavine

-

Zach Lavine has all the tools to be the star player of this current Chicago Bulls franchise. An athletic two-guard who can shoot the rock and is arguably the most athletic player in the league is a huge asset.

Zach showed potential last year in his limited appearances with the Bulls and also showed some things he needs to work on. Two main things most Bulls fans on social media seem to agree on is Zach needs to work on defense and involving his teammates.

Defense is something Zach needs to be put more effort in and I am solely convinced that he will do so. The kids work ethic is off the charts. As for involving his teammates, Zach had just come off an ACL tear last year and was essentially trying to show the city of Chicago and the Bulls why he was worth a max contract.

No doubt Zach has been working his tail off this summer and most likely trying to add new elements to his game to become more of a complete player.

With how hard Zach has been working, Bulls fans should see his numbers jump up again like they did every year since his rookie year.

Well, obviously last year his numbers didn’t go up but again, he was coming off an injury.

Another exciting part of Lavine’s game is his ability to step up in clutch time.

Zach stepped up against Minnesota last year and willed the Bulls to a victory. I understand there was extra motivation to perform against his former team but, Zach went head to head with Jimmy Butler, an All-NBA 1st team defensive player. Lavine has elite offensive skills and being as highly motivated as he seems to be, this kid may be a future perennial all-star.

Only time will tell, but it seems Zach wants to be the guy and Chicago Bulls fans everywhere want that for him as well.
