"For Vegas Fans, By Vegas Fans"

Las Vegas, NV – May 25, 2018 – Prepare to be “mocked,” Las Vegas. Popular Chicago-based sports website, Sports Mockery, is bringing its irreverent brand of sports coverage to the Silver State and southern Nevada with the launch of its first expansion, Sin City Mockery.

As Las Vegas transforms into a “major league” city, so will its sports media market. A passionate alternative choice for everyday sports news, Sin City Mockery will provide coverage of Las Vegas’s current and incoming big league teams such as the NHL Stanley Cup finalist Vegas Golden Knights, the NFL’s soon-to-be Las Vegas Raiders, the WNBA Aces, professional boxing and Vegas-based MMA giant, the UFC. Sin City Mockery will also provide additional coverage of the Las Vegas 51s triple-A franchise as well as UNLV Runnin’ Rebels basketball and UNLV football.

President and CEO of Sports Mockery Chris Burhans shared, “I am thrilled about the expansion into Las Vegas with the establishment of Sin City Mockery. Our platform will provide a home for Vegas sports fans to share their passion with the world. We’re also excited to announce that the expansion will be led by Kevin Fiddler, an authentic local fan and media personality.”

Providing content that is in stark contrast with traditional sports journalism, this brand of sports writing is more in line with Dr. Hunter S. Thompson’s “Gonzo” style of coverage than it is the long-established manner in which sports is covered in this day and age. It is only fitting that an unobjective, unapologetic and uncensored brand of immersive sporting news would arise out of the city that was famously covered in Thompson’s classic novel, “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.”

“Our writers won’t just have their fingers on the pulse of the pro sports scene here in Las Vegas, they’re going to punch their hands into its chest to feel the heartbeat first-hand,” said Fiddler, Sin City Mockery’s managing editor. “They drink at the same local bars as you. They shop at the same Albertson’s as you. They probably even sat next to you at Metro Pizza on a random Thursday night. Sin City Mockery’s writers are you, Las Vegas, through and through. Who better to cover our quickly-growing pro sports market than our very own Desert Rats?”

Whether it’s covering the city’s first major league love, the Golden Knights, or the impending move to Las Vegas by the NFL’s Raider franchise, Sin City Mockery will provide the content local sports fans want to consume, not what some stiff behind a desk mistakenly believes the sports-savvy folks of this Battle Born state want to read about.

Burhans added, “The content will be built for Las Vegans, by Las Vegans, for the Las Vegas teams that have captured their hearts. I look forward to working with the city and showing the world what Vegas sports fans have to offer.”
