The Chicago White Sox, in the midst of a six-series and losing streak, are in the Big Apple on this Memorial Day to open a three-game set with the New York Mets.
The Sox are also on a five-game losing streak after dropping yesterday’s series finale to the Kansas City Royals, whom they now trail by a game in the American League Central. They’ll turn to Jose Quintana today to try and turn things around. Quintana has pitched very well for most of the season, but hasn’t gotten much run support from his offense in his last few starts and has lost three in a row.
The Mets will counter with a struggling Matt Harvey. The right-hander is only one loss away from matching his career high and is on a three-game losing streak of his own, having allowed 19 runs on 27 hits in just 13 1/3 innings during that stretch.
Here’s everything else you need to know about today’s series opener.
