After last night’s lackluster performance from veteran John Danks in a 10-2 loss, the White Sox turn to youngster Carlos Rodon tonight in Baltimore as they attempt to even the series at one game apiece with the Orioles.
The 23-year-old left-hander will also be looking to even up his record at 2-2 after taking a no-decision his last time out in which he threw 6 2/3 solid innings, giving up only two earned runs on two hits while striking out a season-high seven against the Texas Rangers last Saturday. In his young career, Rodon has a 0-1 record to go with a 4.50 ERA in three appearances against the O’s.
Baltimore will counter with 26-year-old right-hander Mike Wright, who like Rodon is in his second year in the Majors. After winning his first start of the 2016 season, he’s lost his last two, most recently this past Sunday after giving up five earned runs in 6 1/3 innings against the Royals.
