The last entry on today’s list was really the only one where I didn’t have top players to choose from, so number 49 goes to David Tate, a cornerback who played five years for the Bears in the late 80s and early 90s. He did have four interceptions during his rookie year and three more during his time in the Windy City. He also had 238 tackles in his Bears career.
1988: 16 games, 4 INT, 35 yards, 45 tackles
1989: 14 games, 1 INT, 60 tackles
1990: 16 games, 54 tackles
1991: 16 games, 2 INT, 35 yards, 30 tackles
1992: 16 games, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, 49 tackles
Runner-up: Charlie Bivins
And now we’re officially halfway through the list. Next up is the 50s and you know we’ll be looking at some of the legendary linebackers that the Bears have had over the years.
