Rookie Of The Year Wants A Cubs World Series Win…No, Not Kris Bryant

It’s been 22 years since the Cubs last won the World Series, at least that’s what Thomas Ian Nicholas, the star of the 1993 film Rookie of the Year, likes to tell people. Everyone seems to be getting caught up in the Cubs fever, and the now 35-year-old Nicholas is no different, and loves toying with the Cubs faithful.

People get so upset and immediately correct me about how it’s been since 1908…It takes a second, but then they finally realize who I am and that I’m just messing with them.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Nicholas, he opens up about his relationship with the Ricketts family, throwing out the first pitch and singing the seventh-inning stretch at Wrigley, and people still yelling “Rowengartner, YOU SUCK!” at him constantly. He also gives his thoughts on the 2015 Cubs.

As funny as my joke about them winning in ’93 is, I really hopeĀ Back to the Future Part IIĀ is correct. I mean, we already have hoverboards so let’s hope they get the Cubs part right as well.
