Theo doesn’t necessarily dismiss trading Kris Bryant
Today, Theo Epstein joined 670 The Score’s McNeil & Parkins afternoon show and gave a very intriguing answer in regards to Kris Bryant and all the trade rumors that have surrounded the former MVP.
“Kris was drafted as a Cub. Kris is still a Cub. Rumors are rumors until they are. Let’s enjoy the career that he has and if there comes a time where is not, we will treat him with respect.”
Theo is correct. Rumors are rumors.
But it is very hard not to read into them all, especially when you have a quote like this coming from one of the top guys within the Cubs organization. It seems the writing is on the wall that KB will potentially be moved but as of right now he’s a Chicago Cub and as Esptein says: Let’s just enjoy it.
