What a wild time to be a fan of any MLB team, as allegations are flying left and right from players and burner accounts that may be players. Managers are getting fired and everyone is looking to expose the next cheating team. At the center of this latest cheating scandal are the Houston Astros, who fired their GM and manager this week after MLB handed down punishments for illegally stealing signs.

Now, the Astros are trying to find a new manager with the start of spring training less than a month away and they’re reportedly interested in Cubs third base coach Will Venable.

The 37-year-old Cubs coach is on a long list of candidates the Astros want to interview.

According to Ken Rosenthal, Buck Showalter already interviewed with the Astros on Wednesday and John Gibbons has his meeting today.

The Cubs have to grant permission to the Astros if they want to interview Venable and they reportedly will.

Venable interviewed for a few managerial positions this offseason, including the Cubs who obviously like him and kept him on the coaching staff after parting ways with Joe Maddon.
