The Bulls are 16-29.
In an awful eastern conference that’s still only good enough for ninth place and once again on the outside looking in for the playoffs. Year three of the third rebuild for president Jon Paxson has brought much of the same from his tenure. Frustration and anger are just a small part of the emotional roller coaster this team has. A roller coaster that has more valleys than peaks.
Change is needed. That’s not news for the fans of the Bulls.
There was a sliver of hope when David Kaplan of ESPN Chicago reported that a front-office shakeup could be coming for the Bulls. That hope was short-lived. According to NBC Sports Chicago Bulls insider KC Johnson, the Bulls are likely to bring in another set of eyes to the front office but Paxson is to remain.
“Speculation exists that the Bulls will make offseason changes. According to sources, nothing has been definitively decided but everything is on the table — except one thing. Paxson is still held in high regard by chairman Jerry Reinsdorf and will be counted on to figure prominently in basketball operations.”

“The most likely scenario is the Bulls adding to the front office. This person would be from outside the organization, with fresh eyes and insights.”
The most disheartening three words in the history of the organization being “except one thing.”
The loyalty displayed by Jerry Reinsdorf is not only disheartening but downright irresponsible. A team in the third-largest market in the country is run as though its a small market team. It’s as close to nepotism without being family. This city is starving for a winner on the hardwood and its stories like these that break their spirit.
