White Sox Re-Sign A Pair Of Pitchers To Minor League Deals

-

The White Sox non-tendered a few players on Monday, but they quickly re-signed two pitchers to minor league deals.

Right-hander Ryan Burr and lefty Caleb Frare are back with the White Sox and will be non-roster invitees to spring training in 2020.

The White Sox have cut a few players from their 40-man roster since the end of the regular season, but have been able to either pass them through waivers or get them back on minor league deals.

Burr, 25, made it on the White Sox Opening Day roster in 2019, but struggled with injuries all season long. He was eventually shut down in July after being out with an elbow strain. Burr threw a total of 19.2 innings last season, recording a 4.58 ERA and 1.27 WHIP, while striking out 20 and walking eight in 16 appearances.

Frare, 26, only made five appearances with the White Sox in 2019, spending most of the season on the injured list or pitching in the minors. Frare has pitched in 16 games for the White Sox the last two seasons.
