Rams Offense Suffers 3 Huge Injuries Ahead of Chicago Bears Visit

-

The Chicago Bears finally got back into the win column against Detroit on Sunday. However, if they truly want to re-enter the playoff picture they’re going to have to go out west and find a way to beat the Los Angeles Rams on the road. Not an easy task against the defending NFC champions. That said, the Bears have enjoyed some good luck lately. Matthew Stafford going down with a back injury last week being the latest example.

Now it seems the football gods might be giving them another opening.

The Rams just got done losing in Pittsburgh. A game where their offense managed just 12 points. What they didn’t know is that their problems were just beginning. A day after leaving the Steel City empty-handed, they found out that they will be facing the Bears defense next without three of their key starters on offense. That includes two on the offensive line. They are wide receiver Brandin Cooks, right tackle Rob Havenstein, and center Brian Allen.

Chicago Bears defense can’t get complacent here

This is significant news for the Rams. They already have struggled to run the ball well this season, averaging 3.9 yards per carry. One of their bright spots had been pass protection, being on pace to allow just 28 sacks. With two starters going down like that, it makes everything more difficult. Considering Jared Goff has thrown 11 touchdowns to nine interceptions this year with good protection. What will happen if that suddenly breaks down?

Either way, the Bears defense knows they have no excuse to be complacent.

They came dangerously close to letting the Lions force overtime on Sunday. This despite facing backup QB Jeff Driskel. It’s clear the unit isn’t playing their best of late. Injuries explain some of that. They were already hamstrung by the loss of star defensive end Akiem Hicks. Now they will likely have to move forward without leader Danny Trevathan as well, who suffered a gruesome elbow injury against Detroit.

This game will not be easy for the Bears. Los Angeles is a tough team and they find a way to compete in every game. They will need a complete effort from the defense and the offense to get out of there with a win.
