Today’s big story in MLB isn’t a free agent signing, but even more discussion about what appears to be rampant illegal stealing of signs in baseball. The Athletic’s story earlier this week has led to an investigation that expands beyond the Houston Astros.

In a recent video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Cubs pitcher Yu Darvish talked about the allegations launched against the Astros is it pertains to his 2017 World Series struggles against them.

Darvish also described hitters looking beyond the outfield wall where bullpens are located this past season.

Especially this year, I’ve noticed a lot weird things. When I’m in the set position, usually the batter looks at me. It depends on the batter, but they generally look at my elbows, my eyes, my shoulders, you know it. But several times this year, I’ve noticed that the batters don’t look at me. Even without runners on second, I see players just looking into the distance, around left center field. It’s awkward. This usually happens when we’re the visiting team. I’ve even told Caratini during mound visits that the batters eyes were not on me.

So, fans started to look for examples of this. Again, a reminder that Darvish doesn’t accuse any specific team or names players. I mean, even with the Astros, Darvish doesn’t rule out the possibility that they were illegally stealing signs away from Houston, but he never accuses them of doing it.

Anyway, back to batters maybe looking into their bullpen. There was this example of Christian Yelich of the Brewers.

Then, Darvish responded to someone explaining away what Yelich was doing.

But again, Yu isn’t saying the Brewers are stealing signs or that it’s the reason Yelich was looking off to left-center.

So, how does Yelich respond? By taking a shot at Darvish.

To be clear, the Brewers need a lot of help when facing Yu Darvish.

Darvish again says he’s not accusing Yelich of stealing signs.

That “you are” was Darvish correcting his grammar, not saying the Brewers were indeed stealing signs.

HOWEVER!

MLB is investigating more teams than just the Astros. One team that has already been accused by other players of illegally stealing signs is the Milwaukee Brewers.

Hmmmm.

Just another exciting day on Twitter.

Anyway, here’s a little flashback Friday for ya.
