Bulls Rookie Headed Back To G-League And No One Knows When Otto Porter Jr. Is Returning From Injury

-

Bulls rookie Daniel Gafford has logged a total of 13 minutes in four games this season and after tonight’s game against the Bucks he’ll be headed back to the G-League. It’s a demotion, but at least the 6-foot-10 big man will get some actual playing time.

Gafford has been down in the G-League already this season and was recalled before Saturday’s game against the Rockets.

Meanwhile, Bulls forward Otto Porter Jr. is missing his third straight game after exiting last week’s road contest against the Hawks. What began as a day-to-day foot injury is now a big question mark for the Bulls, as head coach Jim Boylen doesn’t know when Porter will return.

Porter has been out because of a foot sprain.

Through the first nine games of the season Porter was averaging 11.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and a steal per game, shooting 40% from 3-point range and 41.7% overall.

Second-year forward Chandler Hutchison has replaced Porter in the starting lineup and scored 13 points on on 6-of-10 shooting Saturday in 23 minutes. He scored seven points in Chicago’s 120-102 win over the Knicks Tuesday.
