No, actually this wasn’t the greatest postgame speech ever.
It was actually pretty funny. Cardinals manager Mike Shildt trying to act like a badass, dropping f-bombs like he was a little kid who first learned to say fuck. Try less, Mike.
That was after the Cardinals, credit where credit is due, embarrassed the Braves in Game 5 of the NLDS in Atlanta. They went on to play the Nationals and no, the Cardinals did not fuck them up.
Instead, the Nationals nearly no-hit the Cardinals in the first two games of the NLCS and the Cardinals offense only scored two runs in the first three games of the series.
Then, in games 3 and 4, the Nationals outscored the Cardinals 15-5 to complete the sweep, capping off the series with a seven-run first inning on Tuesday. At the end, the Cardinals hit .130 while getting swept. That’s lowest batting average ever in a best of seven series.
Outstanding.
And congrats to the Nationals, couldn’t have been much more enjoyable from a Cubs fan perspective.
