Rick Hahn’s Offseason Wishlist And Already Lowering Expectations For 2020 White Sox?

-

Before you get mad, yes all these quotes can be taken with a grain of salt. It doesn’t matter if Rick Hahn sets expectations high or low, the only thing that matters is what he does to improve the White Sox and get them closer to a World Series championship.

That being said, Hahn is kind of hedging his bets before the offseason begins, saying that come 2020, the whole White Sox rebuild still won’t be complete. And yeah, he is kind of right, considering the White Sox lost one year from Michael Kopech, while Luis Robert and Nick Madrigal have yet to make their debuts.

But still, White Sox fans don’t want to keep seeing these types of quotes from Hahn.

Anyway, Hahn obviously said he’s focused on making the White Sox better in the offseason and the goal is to compete in 2020.

Sooooo, who’s on Hahn’s wishlist this offseason?

It’s not that hard to figure out when looking at the production from the roster this year, as the White Sox got almost nothing from their right fielders and designated hitters.

Oh and you know, a couple starting pitchers couldn’t hurt either.

A DH who can also sometimes play right field, you say???

Hmmm…

A reminder that J.D. Martinez can opt out and become a free agent this offseason and the Red Sox are praying that he does.

But if Martinez “costs too much” for the White Sox they’ll still have plenty of other outfield options in free agency.

Marcell Ozuna, Nick Castellanos and Yasiel Puig would all make solid free agent additions for the White Sox as well.

And obviously the big free agent pitcher is Gerrit Cole.

We’ll see how this offseason unfolds for the White Sox, but just like last year they’ll be involved in several rumors. Let’s see if Hahn can actually deliver a big signing this time around.
