Yoan Moncada Is Back But Eloy Jiménez Is Scratched From White Sox Lineup

-

Yoan Moncada injured his hamstring in late July against the Mets, but after beating up on Triple-A pitching for the past week he’s returned to the White Sox lineup.

Unfortunately, fans won’t get to see the trio of Moncada, Tim Anderson and Eloy Jiménez, as the rookie outfielder was scratched from the lineup because of hip soreness.

White Sox GM Rick Hahn says it’s only precautionary and Jiménez may return to the lineup Friday.

Here’s the new lineup for Thursday night’s game.

The right-handed slugger has been on the injured list twice this year with a sprained ankle and then an elbow issue.

Well, at least the White Sox will once again have their left side of the infield fully healthy. It’s been quite some time since Anderson and Moncada have been in the lineup at the same time, as both have dealt with injuries.

Moncada posted a .893 OPS in 97 games before going on the injured list with his strained hamstring. In five rehab games at Triple-A, Moncada went 9-for-22, with two home runs, a double, six RBIs and six runs scored.

Meanwhile, after coming back from a sprained ankle, Anderson is having the best month of his career in August, slashing .407/.427/.581, in 86 at-bats.

Hopefully Rick Renteria gives them as many plate appearances as possible for the rest of the season.
