White Sox fans haven’t had much to cheer for since the All-Star break, but hey, no more AJ Reed!
After hitting clean up for the White Sox on Thursday, despite being the worst hitter on the roster and even putting up worse numbers than Yonder Alonso, Reed was optioned back to the minors.
Reed went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts, as the White Sox were shutout and swept by the Mets on Thursday.
Reed struck out 21 times in 44 at-bats during his 14-game stint with the White Sox, mustering up a total of six hits, one home run and five singles.
