Last night Kris Bryant did this.

Bryant’s game-winning homer against the Giants was his 26th of the season and it was also the Cubs’ 200th home run as a team this year.

And yes, this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise as almost every team is setting home run records in 2019, but the Cubs are on their way to smashing their all-time home record record too.

The Cubs are on pace to hit 257 homers this season.

With Anthony Rizzo’s recent power surge, the Cubs became the first team in 2019 to have four players hit at least 25 home runs.

Kyle Schwarber hit his 29t of the season Wednesday night, taking the team lead over Javier Báez. Schwarber, Báez, Bryant and Rizzo are all on track to hit at least 30 home runs and the Cubs could have had five players hit 30 dingers, but unfortunately Willson Contreras injured his hamstring that’s going to cost him a month.

Contreras has 19 home runs in 87 games.

Going back to that 2004 team, Moises Alou led the Cubs with 39 home runs, followed by Aramis Ramirez with 36, Sammy Sosa with 35 and Derrek Lee hit 32. Corey Patterson also had 24.

Let’s just hope the end of this year is a lot happier than the end of the 2004 season for the Cubs.
