This Sucks: Cubs Pitching Prospect Adbert Alzolay Leaves Game With Injury

-

Right-handed pitching prospect Adbert Alzolay made his MLB debut earlier this year with the Cubs and he was electric in two appearances at Wrigley Field. Before the All-Star break, Alzolay got roughed up by the Pirates and was then sent back to Triple-A.

Since then, Alzolay has struggled with his command and on Wednesday night the righty departed from his start in the fourth inning with an injury.

You hope for the best, but this certainly doesn’t look good for Alzolay.

We’ll keep you updated.

UPDATE

After the game, Iowa Cubs manager Marty Pevey confirmed that it was Alzolay’s pitching arm that caused the right-hander to leave the game.

Not ideal. We’ll find out more in the next week.

UPDATE

As expected, Alzolay has been placed on the injured list.
