New Chicago Bears Throwback Uniform Possibly Leaked

-

The Chicago Bears throwback uniforms have been doing some good work the past few years. Most love the classic 1940s versions. They also delivered the fan favorite orange jerseys in 2018 as well. However, team chairman George McCaskey promised a new twist in the throwback machine for the 100th anniversary celebration this season.

Expectations were the uniforms would be revealed during the festivities in Rosemont on June 7th through the 9th. This has left people speculating about what they might be. Maybe a variation of the 1960s style? Or perhaps a leap all the way back to the early days in the 1920s? Thus far people haven’t gotten any solid leads.

That may have changed. A fan named Strum00 spotted some interesting designs at a Dick’s Sporting Goods in Algonquin. One that draws direct connections to the Bears uniforms during the height of the Bronco Nagurski era in the 1930s. The great irony? Strum00 is a Vikings fan.

Now the jersey, pants and helmet designs are actually solid stuff. They mesh well and don’t look unpleasing to the eye. The big problem is the socks. Let’s just say that stripes don’t garner much love from modern fans as they did in the old days. So if this uniform is legitimate, let’s hope the Bears decided to drop that particular part of it.

Subscribe to the BFR Youtube channel and ride shotgun with Dave and Ficky as they break down Bears football like nobody else.

It will be fascinating to see the modern take on it either way.
