When it comes to White Sox prospects, Luis Robert has been the bonafide superstar people pegged him as for all of 2019. Nick Madrigal has been good for the most part, but still hasn’t really tapped into any power, and likely never will.

But once Madrigal got promoted to AA Birmingham, all the kid has done is hit.

He added another hit in the second game of a double-header today but his average still dropped below .600. But let’s not forget that Robert is still raking as well.

Back to Madrigal though. The kid looks like an ideal 2-hole hitter. The best 2 hole hitters make consistent contact and rarely strike out. That’s Madrigal. Sandwich him in between Robert and Moncada in the future and he should have all the protection he needs to be successful. Robert and Madrigal have gone 1-2 in the Barons lineup ever since Nick was promoted, and the offense has reaped the rewards of production early and often. Imagine a lineup like this just over a year from now:

Robert-CF

Madrigal-2B

Moncada-3B

Eloy-LF

Vaughn-1B

Abreu-DH

Anderson-SS

Collins-C

Basabe/Free Agent-RF

Sign me up for that every day. My God. Fun times are ahead for Sox fans. The light is clearly visible at the end of the tunnel now. We’ve waited through all the bad times, but the good ones are about to begin, with Robert and Madrigal leading the way.
