This is absolutely horrifying. The 2-year-old girl hit by an Albert Almora Jr. foul ball during a Cubs-Astros game in Houston earlier this season had a skull fracture and seizure.

According to attorney’s office, the girl also had subdural bleeding, brain contusions and brain edema.
She also had a seizure and is on medication to prevent recurrences, Mithoff’s office said. She is recovering at home.

Before 2018, MLB required all 30 teams to extend protective netting behind the dugouts, but did not mandate more protection.

A few weeks ago the White Sox became the first MLB team to announce plans to extend protective netting from foul pole to foul pole.

There have been several more fans struck by foul balls this season, including a woman who was hospitalized in Los Angeles after a Cody Bellinger foul ball hit her head this past weekend.
