All right, so maybe during Tuesday night’s game Cubs fans were getting nervous when it was reported that Javier Báez got an MRI on his heel. He was kept out of the lineup for two straight games after leaving Sunday’s series finale early against the Nationals. But then El Mago had a pinch-hit walk-off single in the ninth and returned to the starting lineup on Wednesday.
And I think it’s OK to say that his heel is fine.
That’s his 12th home run this season, tying Anthony Rizzo for the team lead. Rizzo drilled a three-run bomb in the third inning. Kris Bryant and Willson Contreras each have 11 homers.
