The Cubs have now made the move official, as righty Rowan Wick has been promoted from Triple-A Iowa.

The 26-year-old pitcher posted an Instagram live story from Wrigley Field this afternoon.

Wick will be taking Xavier Cedeno’s spot in the bullpen, as the veteran lefty is headed to the injured list.

The Cubs traded for Wick last November, sending third baseman Jason Vosler to the Padres. Wick has a 2.84 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 19 innings at Triple-A Iowa so far this season.

Wick made his MLB debut with the Padres last season and pitched in 10 games, posting a 6.48 ERA in 8.1 innings.

The right-hander has always pitched out of the bullpen and has a 2.84 ERA in 143 career appearances in the minor leagues.
